A coupla great tapers made the trip to record all three shows at West High Auditorium (yup, high school show!) in Anchorage, much to our eternal gratitude.  All three shows are pretty, um, hot!  But the boys definitely ease into the Northern climes, and save the best for last (in this humble head’s opinion).  This is one of those runs that’s fun to listen to in sequence; from the beginning of the first show to the end of the last you can sorta imagine the trio as three huge sets in one amazing night, and get a small peak into the Grateful Dead microcosm.  Sorta like the ever-expanding day-month-year, or atoms on a blade of grass which look just like planets spinning around the sun, and maybe they are.
Oh yeah, Alaska!
June 19th - dig the nice Althea, and Second Set pre-drums … and Bertha>Good Lovin’ to end the show!
June 20th - Eddie Claridge was able to patch right into Healy’s feed for this amazing AUD - Thanks Dan!  For lots people this is the one - this show smokes outta the gate, from wig to wingtips.  Don’t miss it.
June 21st - Another Claridge patch from Healy.  for me, this one is the one.  It competes deeply with the night before but with that sort of contest everybody wins, every time.  This show starts with possibly the best Sugaree ever (you can take every single proclamation of best-anything with a grain of salt y’know) - 14 minutes of bliss!  As you can imagine it doesn’t really let up.  The Second Set from Terrapin onward is the stuff to live for.
